Privacy Policy
A client’s personal information is never disclosed, including their full name, email address, delivery address, telephone number and other personal details, to any third parties.

Copyright
Sam retains copyright on all the artwork that she produces. When commissioned artwork is complete it is displayed in her online gallery. Clients who do not wish their commissioned artwork to be shown in the gallery must notify Sam in writing when ordering.

Sam will only use images of commissioned artwork for promotional material, never to reproduce to make profit.

Clients are responsible for the supply of any reference photographs they provide. If photographs are taken by a third party, and the copyright does not belong to the client, clients must obtain their permission to use and provide proof of this to me when ordering.

Deposits
A deposit i required before work begins. Deposits are up to 50% of the total cost of the commissioned painting. An invoice of the total cost, plus the deposit amount, will be given to the client before work commences. Pet portraits must be paid for in full before posting. For commissions over £1000 a payment plan may be considered.

Gift Vouchers
Gift vouchers cannot be refunded or exchanged for cash. They are valid for one year from the date received by the recipient, which will be shown on the actual voucher. Sam reserves the right to be shown the voucher when the recipient pays using the voucher.

Completion Time
The time it takes to complete commissioned artwork depends on the time of year, the length of the waiting list and the size and type of the painting. An accurate estimated time of completion will be given when ordering. Clients must communicate if the commissioned artwork needs to be completed before a specific date, and Sam will do her very best to ensure it is completed and delivered in time. Please order early to avoid disappointment, especially around Christmas time.

Cancellations
Clients have a 7 day money back guarantee from the date of their order and they will receive a full refund.
If clients wish to cancel their order after 7 days their deposit will not be refunded.

On receiving your painting, clients have 7 days to contact me about any changes required. If after these changes the client is unhappy with the painting, upon receiving back the painting they may request a refund minus the deposit and fees. If the client does not allow me to make adjustments then no refund will be issued.

It is required that clients pay the cost of returning their painting.

This does not affect your statutory rights.

Payment
All commissions must be secured with a deposit before work commences. Full payment is required before a commission is posted. Payments must be made via Bank Transfer.

Delivery
Delivery costs vary depending on the size of the portrait and destination. Delivery costs will be agreed prior to accepting payment. Unless otherwise agreed, commissioned paintings will be sent by Royal Mail Special Delivery Next Day or International Signed For. Clients outside the EU are responsible for paying any local import taxes.

Damage in Transit
All paintings are fully insured during delivery. In the unlikely event that a something is damaged in transit, Sam must be contacted immediately. Clients must keep all packaging and contents and make a note of damages on the delivery record to receive compensation. Damaged paintings must be returned at the cost of the client and Sam will complete another completely free of charge.

Future Warranty
We highly recommend that paintings are appropriately insured once hung in your home. Sam James accepts no responsibility for any future damages, including fading of paintings.

Art Classes

If you have any questions regarding the details of the art classes please do not hesitate to contact Sam at any time.

Mini Masters Classes

  • These are booked and paid for in 6 weekly blocks to coincide with Gloucestershire School term times.
  • All payments must be made by bank transfer and prior to the first class. Booking is on a first come first served basis.
  • Payment includes all materials required for each class.
  • No snack will be provided.
  • All works created belong to students and can be taken home whenever convenient
  • Classes take place in my family home in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire.

Parental Responsibilities

  • It is the parent’s responsibility to ensure their child is wearing suitable clothing for messy, creative art work.
  • The student is responsible for personal belongings and any damage to clothes.
  • Parents are welcome to stay, however please accept that you are entering Sam’s home.
  • Sam reserves the right to refuse students who demonstrate inappropriate, aggressive or anti-social behaviour.

Cancellations and Refunds

  • You can cancel classes at any point.
  • You are entitled to a full refund when cancelling prior to the first class, after that refunds will be granted for unused classes, subject to whether the empty slot can be filled during the allocated remaining 6 week time frame.
  • If your child is unable to attend at short notice, another class will be offered, or will credit your account at the end of 6 weeks.
  • This does not affect your statutory rights.

New Masters Classes

  • These can be booked as a single workshop, or as a regular class to suit. Payment must be received 7 days prior to each workshop.
  • Booking is on a first come first served basis.
  • Workshops typically occur in Sam’s home in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. Painting outside of this venue will be mutually agreed beforehand.
  • Classes begin and finish promptly.
  • Price includes all materials required, however you may bring your own.
  • Refreshments will be offered throughout the workshop and a snack style lunch can be provided when attending a whole day. Please notify me of any allergies prior to booking.
  • You may bring your own food and snacks if you wish. I recommend you bring a water bottle.
  • Please wear suitable clothing for painting, I accept no responsibility for personal belongings or damage to clothing.

Artwork

  • All artwork remains the property of the client.
  • I accept no responsibility for art work left behind.
  • Uncollected art work will be disposed of after 6 weeks.
  • Unused materials remain my property

Cancellations and Refunds

  • You can cancel classes at any point.
  • You are entitled to a full refund when cancelling 3 days prior to the first class, after that refunds will be granted for unused classes, subject to whether I can fill the empty slot during the agreed remaining time frame.
  • If you are unable to attend at short notice then I will offer you alternative class dates.
  • Failure to arrive to a class does not qualify for a refund.
  • Sam reserves the right to withdraw her classes. Anti-social, aggressive or inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated.
